Raah De Healing

Motherhood & identity

You can love your child deeply and still miss parts of who you were.

Pregnancy, postpartum, planning a child, or already being a mother can rearrange more than your days. It can rearrange identity, ambition, marriage, friendship, and the quieter relationship you have with yourself.

You may feel grateful and overwhelmed in the same hour. You may want this life and still not quite recognise the woman living it. That contradiction is more common than people admit, and it does not make you ungrateful.

I don’t believe loving motherhood means you stop being allowed to miss yourself.

I have walked through pregnancy and motherhood while also knowing what it is to have had a professional life, an inner world, and a version of myself that existed before this chapter. I do not think those earlier parts of you need to be erased in order for this one to be real.

Often the surface question is practical: work, sleep, support, a relationship that feels stretched. Underneath, there is usually a woman trying to stay connected to herself while being needed in a new way.

That is not a problem to be pathologised. It is a transition to be understood with care.

We can look at the specific question you are carrying — around identity, work, your relationship, or the feeling of not being yourself.

Depending on what you need, that may be a tarot conversation around a present situation, numerology if a broader pattern is asking to be seen, or healing work if you already understand the landscape and still feel it sitting in your body.

If this is the chapter you are in, you do not need to arrive with a perfect question. “I don’t feel like myself” is already enough for us to begin.
